  3. The guitars are heavy, thick and have just enough mix of melody and riffing to keep this from becoming a power chord fest. Very tasteful solos. No Jeff Loomis impersonations, but pure soul and power. The bass is muddy and organic, just the way it needs to be for this music. And really, this is probably where Sahg sounds the most like Sabbath/5(5).

  6. This album ranges from subliminal (The Alchemist, especially due to subtle keyboards touches) to blaring and anthem-like (Soul Exile). While guitars are soul searching and wondering, drumming is super steady (The Alchemist even has a shaker percussion in it) and every bass guitar string pull or pluck is felt (The Alchemist, Soul Exile). To add to guitars histrionics, solos on Sahg I are protracted and .

  8. Soul Exile - The best song on the album IMO. It’s more of a rock-based song than the others. It’s a lot faster than some of the other songs. The riffs are very catchy but heavy.
